MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. is eyeing  monthly job fairs nationwide to help reduce the unemployment rate.

In a document posted on its website, the DOE said the projects were endorsed to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) for a system impact study.

In a stock exchange filing on Thursday, October 17, the Ayala-led bank said its net income expanded by 24.3 percent to P48 billion.

“If the results are good, we plan to do something like this every—something like this every month to reach out,” Marcos said on the second day of the Jobstreet and the Department of Labor and Employment’s Career Con 2025.

“Hindi lamang dito sa Maynila kung hindi sa iba’t ibang lugar din. At para naman kahit na hindi na – para hindi na kailangan mapunta rito sa Maynila,” Marcos added.

According to Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, there are more than 5,000 jobs available at the Career Con 2025. He added that over 18,000 job seekers registered for the two-day fair, which is the largest career event in the Philippines so far. Based on the Philippine Statistics Authority’s report in January 2025, the unemployment rate dropped in November as holiday job opportunities outweighed disruptions from last year’s storms. A nationwide survey conducted of 11,276 households showed there were 1.66 million individuals who were either unemployed or out of business in November, which is lower than the 1.97 million unemployed in October.
